Event Date:  Jul 26, 2019

Co-hosted by SaskOrganics, TCO chapters 7 and 8, and producers on the Advisory Committee on Organic Research at SCRDC.

The plan is to tour the Participatory Wheat Breeding Trial and Oat Variety Trial on the organic area at South Farm in the morning, in addition to the Organic Oat “B” Yield Trial under Jennifer Mitchell Fetch (not on the attached list) on the Wheatland Conservation Area just across the road from South Farm.  After lunch, we’ll tour the rest of our organic trials.  In addition to these field trials, we also have other organic projects which we’ll go over at the end of the field tour.

We’ll start from the parking lot at our centre (watch for signs), come back for lunch, and then return to South Farm for the rest of the tour.  At the end of the afternoon, there’ll be a chance for networking while having coffee and snacks (courtesy of Grain Millers and AAFC) in the Cafeteria/Thomson Room.

Although there is no admission fee for this event we’d need attendees to register ahead of time (see link for registration on the poster).

Please let us know if you have any questions and/or would like more information on this event, and feel free to distribute the poster to any others who might be interested in attending. Hope to see you on July 26th!!!

Admission is free but please register using eventbrite.

  • Meet at 9:45am outside the cafeteria, watch for signs
  • Bring your own water bottle for the field
  • Lunch options at $15

P.S.  More information on the 2019 Organic Research Workshop – October 31st to November 1st will be sent out later this summer.  This fall event will have a trade show starting on the Thursday.  The agenda for that day will also include an event in the evening.  November 1st will be dedicated to presentations of results from organic research conducted here at SCRDC and at other research institutions.
