March 20: Intro to Lean Principles 101
This one-day “hands-on” learning by doing style of workshop will discuss the Lean concepts of customer focus, information, service and material flow and waste elimination. Through the use of simulation exercises and case study examples, participants will gain an understanding of how to implement core Lean tools to improve processes.
Morning Agenda: Focused on understanding and learning the Five Lean Principles, Non-Value Added & Value-Added, overview of lean tools and with a mixed of group activities, team building and inter-active discussions. In additional to this, the group will be conducting a waste hunting exercise.
Afternoon Agenda: Participants will apply their learning from the morning session, group brainstorming, identifying current issues and finding ways to improve the flow while building Lego airplanes in a team work environment.
