September 12, 2017

COOK &; DOC: Sept. 22 | The Food Studio | 7pm

Nandita’s classes are a wonderful means of community building. Participants will learn to prepare delicious dishes which are fresh and healthy, while realizing that we all are connected to each other and to Mother Earth through food.

This event also features a screening of the documentary “For Our Peat’s Sake”- about peat moss harvesting, its environmental & cultural damage and how organic production works to minimize damage in agriculture. A Q & A with producer Thayer McInnis will follow the 35-minute documentary.

By suggested donation $30-60/person.

Organic food is healthy for farmers, animals, the planet – and you!
If you want to reduce your exposure to artificial ingredients, synthetic pesticides and GMOs, Organic food is the way to go. Organic farming is also great for farmers, animals, and the planet – it promotes climate-friendly food production, helps farmers stay healthy due to not being exposed to dangerous pesticides and fertizliers, promotes wildlife diversity, protects from soil erosion, helps prevent water contamination and uses less energy than conventional farming methods. Join Nandita to learn how to optimize your food dollars for your health – and the health of animals and the planet!

Thank you to our sponsors: Nature’s Farm and The Manitoba Organic Alliance.
